German company SeaRenergy and the UK’s Specialist Marine Consultants have won a contract to provide offshore support services to the 402MW Veja Mate wind farm in the German North Sea.
The 150-day contract started on 1 November with the preparation of the foundations and transition pieces for the installation of the towers and turbines, the companies said.
The scope of the work includes full project management, full marine logistics, cleaning of offshore structures as well as the monitoring of marine growth on the offshore structures.
It also comprises technical inspections and reports, the maintenance and replacement of any damaged items on the structures, assistance with the maintenance of the offshore substation and the transfer of project personnel from the harbour.
The €1.9bn wind project is expected to be commissioned in late 2017.
“SeaRenergy and SMC have been a great support for Veja Mate from the very start of the project and we are happy that we can continue our cooperation during the next phase of the project,” Veja Mate installation package manager Tonni Bager said.
