Vroon walk-to-work vessel VOS Start has begun work for developer Parkwind on the 219MW Northwester 2 offshore wind farm off the coast of Belgium.
The ship is operating out of the port of Ostend deploying service teams to the project’s turbines via a gangway or crew transfer vessel.

VOS Start (pictured) is also providing supply duties that are normally carried out by platform-supply vessels.
“This helps streamline operations and reduce costs for the client,” Vroon said.
VOS Start has been fitted with a three-dimensional motion-compensation system – 3D Tip – with a lift capacity of up to five tonnes for the charter, it added.
