The second offshore substation for Dong Energy’s 660MW Walney 3 wind farm in the Irish Sea will be loaded out and shipped within days.
It will be the Engie Fabricom and Iemants combo’s third offshore transformer station finished within four weeks after it loaded out a platform for the Race Bank project off the west UK coast and the first Walney 3 jacket and topside.
Construction works on the latest jacket and topside have taken around 15 months and involved about 100 people.
It will be shipped to the project site off Cumbria from a yard in Hoboken.
The duo is currently manufacturing substations for the Merkur and Hohe See projects off Germany.
