Deutsche Windtechnik has signed a five-year maintenance contract for six Senvion 5M turbines at the Alpha Ventus offshore wind farm jointly owned by a consortium consisting of EWE, Eon and Vattenfall.
The contract with the consortium – known as Deutsche Offshore-Testfeld und Infrastruktur – covers remote monitoring and scheduled maintenance and servicing, as well as the possible replacement of large components and stockpiling of spare parts.
Deutsche Windtechnik said the contract model has already been successfully implemented at several of EWE’s onshore wind farms, including for a Senvion 5M turbine in Neuenwalde near Cuxhaven.
The contents of the Neuenwalde contract are similar to those of the offshore deal and is helping the partners gather initial experience, Windtechnik said.
EWE asset manager Ewald Heyen said: “The service job in Neuenwalde began in July 2016, and we will continue to gather project experience until the beginning of next year.”
