Malaysian integrated oil and gas services company Sapura Energy has won a contract to install foundations at WPD’s 640MW Yunlin offshore wind farm off the coast of Taiwan.
The deal, first reported in the latest issue of the subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS, covers installation of 80 monopiles.

Half are currently being fabricated at Formosa Heavy Industries’ Yunlin factory with Steelwind Nordenham of Germany due to start work on the remainder next month, according to sources.
The wind farm features Siemens Gamesa 8MW turbines. Foundation installation is expected to start in March 2020 with the project coming online in December 2021.
