ABO Energy has sold the 48MW Schierenberg wind farm in Brandenburg to Encavis and signed a cooperation deal covering four additional German projects.
The portfolio includes two schemes in North Rhine-Westphalia, one in Rhineland-Palatinate and one in Saarland, bringing a total of 106.2MW. All sites are under construction and due online between late 2026 and spring 2027.
ABO Energy will manage the projects commercially and technically once operational, delivering about 300,000MWh a year, equal to the consumption of 180,000 people and offsetting 225,000 tonnes of CO2.
Sebastian Sprengart, head of financing and sales at ABO Energy, said the agreement reflects a trusted partnership that “makes the complex sales process much easier and smoother.”
Encavis chief executive Mario Schirru said the new deal highlights the strategic importance of the collaboration, adding that with 800MW of installed wind capacity in Germany the company is “sending a strong signal for the energy transition.”
ABO Energy said it is on track for another record year, having won contracts for 120MW in recent Federal Network Agency tenders, with permits secured for 330MW in 2025 and applications submitted for almost 1GW.
