ABO Wind has secured tariffs for two wind projects totalling over 41MW and has also secured approval for a 9MW project.
The developer secured the 25.3MW Spreeau and the 15.9MW Einollen wind farm in a recent German Government tender.
Einollen will be built in Rhineland-Palatinate, and Spreeau in Brandenburg.
Einollen will use three 5.3MW GE turbines with a hub height of 158 metres. The Spreeau site, which is near the planned Tesla factory, will use six 4.2MW Vestas turbines, with hub heights of 150 metres.
Approval has also been obtained for two further turbines with a total of 9MW in Gielert, according to ABO Wind. The developer said it expects to participate in the tariff tender on 1 June 2020.
The Gielert project will use two 4.5MW Nordex Acciona turbines with a hub height of 149 metres.
All three wind farms are scheduled to be connected to the grid in 2021.
According to the Federal Network Agency, the 900MW of capacity that was recently tendered attracted 67 bids with a volume of 527MW, with 523MW winning the tender with an average value of €0.0618 per kilowatt hour.
ABO Wind said it expects approvals for further German wind farms in the coming months.
The company general manager Thomas Treiling said: “The satisfaction about the latest successes does not hide the fact that we are facing a persistent lack of permits for wind energy in Germany.
“Neither federal nor state policy has so far defused the critical situation. Our industry, for example, is still waiting for a strengthening of municipal value creation from wind energy so that more sites can be made available.”
