Acciona Energía has started commercial operations on schedule at the 93MW San Román wind farm in Texas.
The project, located in Cameron County, took 11 months to build and comprises 31 AW125/3000 turbines with 87.5-metre hub heights.
It is Acciona’s eighth wind farm in the country and brings the company’s total wind capacity in the US to 721MW. The other projects are located in Illinois, Iowa, North and South Dakota and Oklahoma.
Acciona Energy North America director Ilya Hartmann said: “We are very pleased to have successfully completed a wind farm that represents the reactivation of our investment activity in the US, where we plan to extend our project portfolio and increase our presence.”
