Alliant Energy’s Iowa utility Interstate Power and Light Company has reached a settlement with customer groups related to its proposed 500MW extension to the 200MW Whispering Willow wind farm.
The project in Franklin County was announced on 27 July and would bring 250MW online in 2019 and the remaining 250MW coming into service a year later.
Alliant said parties to the non-unanimous settlement include the Office of Consumer Advocate, a division of the Iowa Department of Justice; the Iowa Business Energy Coalition; and the Large Energy Group.
The project, including the settlement, is subject to approval by the Iowa Utilities Board.
A hearing is scheduled for 26 October, the company said.
