Brazilian energy company Eletrobras is to sell to Omega Geracao its stakes in several onshore wind farms in the South American country totalling 583MW.
Omega will buy Eletrobras’ 78% share in the 402MW Santa Vitoria do Palmar wind farm complex (pictured) and 180.8MW Hermenegildo 1, 2, 3 and Chui 9 projects.

The deal has an enterprise value of over BRL1.5bn (€245m).
Eletrobras said that the sale has been approved by its board of directors.
However, final approval depends on a resolution being passed at the company’s general shareholders’ meeting on 2 September, it added.
