Brazilian developer Casa dos Ventos has started commercial operations at its 359MW Ventos do Araripe 3 wind power complex in the northeast of the country.
The R$1.8bn scheme, located on the Araripe plateau between Piauí and Pernambuco states, comprises 14 wind farms with 156 turbines.
The facilities will open gradually by the end of the year, the Sao Paulo developer said.
Araripe 3 is the fifth wind complex Casa dos Ventos has completed since late 2015.
It has added 1GW since then to reach an installed capacity of more than 1.1GW.
