Gamesa is to supply, install and commission 18 G132-5MW turbines for the 90MW Nangang wind farm in Tianjin, its first order for the new platform.
The deal is with the renewable energy subsidiary of Sinohydro, a Chinese manufacturing group.
The machines will be supplied during the last quarter of 2017 and commissioned during the first quarter of 2018.
The turbines come with blade lengths of 64.5 metres and rotor diameters of 132 metres.
It was type certified last May by DNV GL.
Gamesa chief executive in China Alvaro Bilbao said: “This contract marks an important strategic landmark for Gamesa: not only is it the maiden order from the 5MW platform in Asia, it is the first signed order for the G132-5MW.”
