Vestas has resumed operations at its Daimiel blade production facility in Spain after work at the site was halted last week due to worker concerns over the COVID-19 outbreak.
The Danish company said health authorities have inspected the plan and concluded it complies with guidelines and is safe for work.
“We continue to monitor the situation and have our emergency response plans in place in the event of a COVID-19 case,” Vestas said.
The company held talks with worker representatives over the matter.
In the statement last week, the company said: “The safety and well-being of our employees is our highest priority and we are doing everything to ensure our colleagues take all necessary precautions to prevent exposure to the coronavirus and allow business to continue at Daimiel and other Vestas locations.
“Since the situation started, Vestas has taken very strict measures to prevent exposure to the virus of any of our employees.”
The statement added: “These measures strictly follow the recommendations of the Spanish health authorities and the World Health Organisation and include reinforced cleaning and disinfection of shared areas, keeping physical distance between employees, use of protective equipment as well as limiting the number of external visits to Vestas facilities.”
