Vestas is in talks with worker representatives in an effort to restart production at its Daimiel blade production facility in Spain.
Work at the site was halted temporarily earlier this week “due to concerns among factory workers” over the COVID-19 outbreak.
Vestas said the talks are aimed at allowing production to get underway “in compliance with Spanish law”.
“The safety and well-being of our employees is our highest priority and we are doing everything to ensure our colleagues take all necessary precautions to prevent exposure to the coronavirus and allow business to continue at Daimiel and other Vestas locations,” said the Danish manufacturer.
“Since the situation started, Vestas has taken very strict measures to prevent exposure to the virus of any of our employees.
“These measures strictly follow the recommendations of the Spanish health authorities and the World Health Organisation and include reinforced cleaning and disinfection of shared areas, keeping physical distance between employees, use of protective equipment as well as limiting the number of external visits to Vestas facilities.”
