Community Windpower and Vestas have agreed the early order of turbine towers from CSWind UK’s Campbeltown plant in Scotland for the 31MW Sanquhar wind farm.
The early order helps to fill a production gap in CSWind UK’s work programme, Community Windpower said.
The towers are not due on site at Sanquhar until August.
Community Windpower has also committed to ordering 45 tower sections from CSWind UK for its Sneddon Law scheme.
Community Windpower managing director Rod Wood said: “We are delighted to have been able to facilitate this early order and understand the positive impact this will have on the production pipeline at CSWindUK.”
CSWind UK sales team manager Lesley Black said: “The support from Community Windpower to secure this order to be manufactured in Scotland and their working together with Vestas to bring the timing of the project forward to help with any order gaps, is invaluable.”
