The US unit of Deutsche Windtechnik has secured new contracts to take its portfolio of US wind capacity under service to over 1GW.
The company, which set up in the US in 2018, said it has seen a 700% growth in demand for its services in the past year.
Deutsche Windtechnik said it now employs more than 100 new staff in operational and administrative areas, including those with experience in Mitsubishi and GE turbine technology.
The service contracts signed by Houston-based Deutsche Windtechnik Inc include Siemens, GE as well as Mitsubishi, which has brought in 724MW under long-term contracts.
At the same time, the entire Deutsche Windtechnik group has secured 10GW rated power under maintenance globally.
To deliver servicing at the “highest level of quality”, Deutsche Windtechnik has invested in its US training programme, customised to each turbine technology.
In addition to the usual maintenance activities for wind turbines under long-term contracts, Deutsche Windtechnik Inc provides other services, including commissioning and maintenance of battery storage, end of warranty and construction inspections, major component replacements and technology-related upgrades.
