EDF Renewable Energy is signing up host landowners for an up to 200MW wind farm in northwest Iowa.
The early-stage Cherokee County wind farm would comprise about 100 turbines, EDF told county officials.
The project area is near the city of Marcus and has access to existing transmission lines.
Cherokee County board of supervisors is considering a tax increment financing (TIF) designation for the project.
If development goes as planned, EDF anticipates starting construction in 2018.
