EDF Renewable Energy is to supply Google with 200MW of electricity from the Glaciers Edge wind farm in Iowa.
The project is located in Cherokee County and is scheduled to come online in December 2019.
Construction of the wind farm is expected to create over 150 jobs.
EDF Renewable Energy director of power marketing Dai Owen said: “The strong US wind market relies in part on America’s corporate sector and companies like Google, who through the purchase of wind energy demonstrate leadership in the drive for a low-carbon economy.
“Their commitment allowed Glaciers Edge to proceed, providing an economic boost to the Iowa economy.”
