Scottish ministers have approved EDF Renewables’ application to build its 225MW Clash Gour wind farm in northern Scotland.
The 48-turbine project will be constructed in partnership with Force9 Energy at a site close to Forres.
A 50MW battery storage facility is also included in the planning consent.
Responding to the approval, EDF Renewables head of onshore wind investments in the UK Claire Jones said: “We are pleased that the Scottish government has approved our planning application for Clash Gour wind farm.
“The wind farm will go a great way to accelerating our efforts to meeting the country’s net zero and climate change targets.
“We have worked closely with the local communities and Moray Council throughout the process.
“The wind farm will have a huge positive impact for the local area, including substantial jobs being created. A community fund will also be created once the wind farm is operational and will be in line with Scottish government guidance of £5,000 per megawatt.”
