Enel Green Power Espana has started construction of the 180MW Tico wind farm in the province of Zaragoza, Spain.
The €181m project, which is located in Villar de los Navarros, will come online at the start of 2022 and generate 471 gigawatt-hours of electricity a year.
It will comprise 26 3.65MW turbines and 17 5MW machines.
Jose Bogas, chief executive of Enel’s Spanish subsidiary Endesa, said: “With this project, we reaffirm our commitment to continue strengthening the renewable generation mix in Spain, helping to pursue its objectives in the field of green energy.
“We are also taking advantage of the wealth of renewable sources in the country while actively promoting innovation and sustainability through the adoption of international best practices during the construction phase.”
Enel Green Power currently manages more than 7794MW of renewable capacity installed in Spain, including 4745MW of hydro power, 2422 MW of wind, 624MW of solar power and 3MW from other renewable sources.
