Enercon has launched its new E-175 EP5 E2 wind turbine in the UK at an event in Edinburgh.
The model features a 7MW nominal power rating and 175-metre rotor, delivering up to 20% lower levelised cost of energy and 60% more annual revenue per unit compared to previous generations.
Enercon said the turbine has been tailored for the UK market with tower options up to 175 metres and a split-generator design to ease transport. It also incorporates new logistics and installation strategies suited to British infrastructure.
Head of product management Moritz Rodenhausen said: “It’s not just about more power, it’s about smarter integration, better logistics, and real value for our customers.”
Head of sales GB Rachel Bowes added: “With the E-175 EP5 E2, we’re offering a solution that’s not only powerful but also practical and future-ready.”
President region western Europe and UK managing director Johan Terpstra said the launch marked a milestone for the manufacturer’s return to “market standard”. He added: “We’ve made real progress, and we’re proud to say: Enercon is back to the future.”
