Energia has fully commissioned its 95MW Meenadreen wind farm in Ireland’s north west.
The 38-turbine project in County Donegal features Nordex N90/2500 hardware and is one of the country’s largest operational wind farms.
It took 26 months to complete with Denis Moriarty working on civils and Kirby Group on electrical engineering.
Energia invested €145m to develop the project, bringing its total investment in wind farm developments to over €500m.
Managing director Peter Baillie said the company is “proud” to have delivered the project.
“We’d like to thank the local community at Leghowney for their support and are delighted that this Meenadreen wind farm will be providing further community funding for the local areas and local authority rates for the lifetime of the wind farms,” he said.
