German company Energiequelle and its French subsidiary P&T Technologie have commissioned two wind farms in France totalling almost 30MW.
A total of 11 turbines have been built, bringing the total capacity installed by Energiequelle in France to over 200MW.
The 15MW Villers-le Tourneur has been built in the Grand-Est region, close to the Belgian border, and comprises five Nordex N117 turbines each with hub heights of 91 metres.
The project was acquired from the pipeline of the Leipzig-based project developer Green Energy 3000, which supported the construction project until the end.
The 14.1MW Broons/Biterne-Sud is located in the department of Cotes d’Armor in north-east Brittany and received the final modification permit in February last year.
It consists of six Enercon E-92 turbines, which are equipped with precast concrete towers at two different hub heights.
Four turbines have a hub height of 104 metres, the other two are 98 metres high.
The reason for this is an overall height limitation because of air traffic control restrictions, Energiequelle said.
Broons/Biterne-Sud will be connected to the ENEDIS electricity grid via two transfer stations.
After commissioning the first construction phase with two turbines in December 2020, the last four turbines are now in operation.
Project Manager for both parks Uta Kanira said: “Despite rescheduling and a variety of challenges during the development phase, the entire team has performed extremely well.
“I am happy to see the commissioning happen on time and hope that we can catch up with the appropriate celebrations after Corona on site.”
Construction of the 9MW Bourbriac wind farm with three Nordex turbines started in April, and in August and October, construction will also start on two unnamed parks with 10 turbines and a total output of 30MW.
