Envision Energy has announced full commercial operation of the 240MW Khizi–Absheron wind power project in Azerbaijan.
The company said President Ilham Aliyev attended the commissioning ceremony and highlighted the project’s strategic importance to the country’s energy transition.
It added that the development is Azerbaijan’s first domestically developed utility-scale wind project and the largest wind farm in the Caucasus region to date.
The project features 37 Envision EN-171/6.5MW turbines delivered 9200km from China to the Caspian Sea, with expected annual output of about 893GWh and CO₂ reductions of more than 400,000 tonnes.
Envision stated that it delivered customised turbine designs optimised for high-wind conditions, purpose-built logistics solutions and system-level engineering to support efficient operation across the site.
The company said the project shows how tailored delivery and cross-border collaboration can unlock large-scale wind power in challenging environments.
