Eon has signed a power purchase agreement to sell half of the output from a 200MW wind farm in Texas to Johnson & Johnson.
The 200MW Colbeck’s Corner wind farm will supply electricity to the US healthcare giant for 12 years, the German company said.
It will cover about 60% of Johnson & Johnson’s electricity consumption in the US, or 25% globally.
Data center provider Digital Realty has also signed a long-term PPA to receive 400,000 MWh of power from the wind farm annually, Eon said.
It has also started building the 278MW Radford’s Run wind farm in Illinois, which it expects to complete by the end of 2017.
