Norwegian renewable energy company Fenix Repower plans to build two wind power plants in Ukraine’s Rivne region, according to regional administration head Oleksandr Koval.
Discussions between local officials and company representatives have outlined plans for 9–12 turbines per project, each rated at 7MW.
Koval said: “In the conditions of constant enemy attacks, the installation of wind power plants is one of the steps towards the energy independence of the region. During the meeting, we agreed with the company representatives about our maximum assistance in the implementation of this project.”
Fenix Repower was recently selected by the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (Norad) for support to invest in Ukraine’s renewable energy sector.
