Finnish company Ilmatar has acquired the project rights for the 42MW Korpilevonmaki wind farm in Finland.
The company said the seven-turbine project is currently in the zoning phase.
Korpilevonmaki is planned to be built in the Korpilevonmäki area of Sakyla, south of Highway 12.
The sub-master plan for the wind farm is expected to take effect at the turn of 2021–2022, with construction likely to start by the end of 2022, the company said.
Ilmatar chief executive Juha Sarsama said: “The purchase of Korpilevonmaki’s project rights is one step towards Ilmattar’s goal of building 1000MW of wind power by 2027.
“We want to be at the forefront of increasing carbon-free energy production in Finland, and we are currently developing several large-scale wind power projects in Ii and Alajarvi, among others.
“We also have the ability to agilely grow our project portfolio by purchasing project rights for parks under development.”
