Fontavis and OX2 have successfully commissioned the 33MW Orrberget onshore wind farm in Sweden.
The wind farm, in the Ludvika municipality north west of Stockholm, features nine Nordex N117 turbines each with a capacity of 3.7 MW.
Fontavis Director Thomas Vogt said: “With the completion of another wind farm in Sweden with OX2, Fontavis again demonstrates its competence and ability to generate attractive deals and successfully implement them with the right partners.”
OX2 CEO Paul Stormoen said: “We are pleased that we were able to implement another project with Fontavis. As with the Stigshöjden wind farm that was commissioned last autumn, the cooperation during the construction phase worked very well.
“We are now committed to manage the wind farm for Fontavis to ensure a safe operation and to deliver the greatest possible return of investment.”
Developer OX2 is based in Stockholm and over the past 15 years has developed more than 2GW of power in the Nordic region.
Orrberget is Fontavis’ third operational onshore wind farm in the country.
The milestone marks the continuation of Swiss asset manager Fontavis’ expansion in the areas of onshore and offshore wind power, solar energy, hydroelectric power and biomass.
The firms said the annual production of 96 GWh provides energy for an equivalent of approximately 19 200 households and will help reduce CO2 emissions when displacing fossil fuel generation by approximately 57 600 tonnes of CO2 per year.
