Finnish energy company Fortum and local partner Rusnano have taken a final investment decision on a 100MW wind farm in Russia.
The project is the third out of a total of 1832MW awarded to the joint venture in Russian wind auctions in 2017 and 2018 to be given the go ahead. It is expected to start operations in 2020.

The other two projects – 50MW and 200MW facilities – are expected to come online in the first half of 2019 and 2020, respectively.
Fortum also won the right in a June auction to develop 110MW of solar capacity in Russia.
The JV said FIDs on projects are made on a case-by-case basis.
