Renewable energy’s share of electricity consumption in Austria fell last year for the first time since 2010, the Austrian wind energy association IG Windkraft said citing government figures.
Consumption fell by 1.2% in 2017 to 72.2% according to data from Statistik Austria, the association said.

IG Windkraft managing director Stefan Moidl said: “For years, the renewable industry has been pointing out that efforts to develop green energy are not enough.
“Now the numbers in black and white show that Austria is going in the wrong direction.”
