Amazon has achieved full operations at its 150MW Fowler Ridge wind far in Indiana.
The retail giant said the Benton County project is the first of four announced renewable energy developments to go live.
Fowler was originally a BP project before being taken over by Pattern Energy. Amazon bought in last January.
The company said the wind farm produced 1.1m kilowatt-hours on the first full day of operations. It features 65 Siemens 2.3MW turbines.
“Today’s news definitely helps us progress towards our goal of 40% renewable energy for our global infrastructure by the end of 2016 and marks more progress in Amazon’s march towards our long-term 100% renewable goal, with much more soon to come,” it said.
