The trading division of Irish developer Gaelectric has signed a power purchase agreement with Golden Square Energy and AGR Group for the pair’s 7.5MW Crockbaravally wind farm in Northern Ireland.
Gaelectric Trading and Market Services (GTAMS) said today the County Tyrone deal marked its sixth PPA in the North.
GTAMS head of energy markets Colin Spain said the contract is a “strong indicator” of the trading outfit’s growth over the last 18 months.
“We developed our PPA offering in Northern Ireland in 2015 and have since grown that portfolio considerably and this sector of our business has become a major growth opportunity for us,” he said
“Our business model is to support our energy partners with a bespoke offering that directly translates to value, particularly as we approach the challenges of the I-SEM market changes.”
