Gamesa has won a contract to supply 48 turbines to EDP Renewables for its 100MW Amazon wind farm in Ohio.
The company will install 48 of its G114-2.1MW turbines to the Pauling County site in central US and the power generated will be supplied exclusively to an Amazon data center.
Under the terms of the agreement Gamesa will manage the transport, installation and commissioning of the turbines for the project.
Turbine deliveries are scheduled to begin in the second quarter of 2016 and the wind farm will operate commercially by the end of 2016.
This latest order takes the total volume of orders for Gamesa’s G114-2.0 MW and G114-2.1 MW to over 2000MW globally.
