Spanish supplier Gamesa has secured a 33MW multi-project contract from developer REG Windpower covering five wind farms across the UK.
Turbines from the manufacturer’s 2MW-platform will be installed in the second half of this year with operations expected “some months later” to meet Renewables Obligation deadlines.
Gamesa sill install two G97-2MW turbines at Rodbaston wind farm in central England; two G80-2MW at French Farm in the east of England.
It will also tackle six G87s at Mynydd Portref in South Wales; four G80-2MW machines at Mynydd Brombil, also in South Wales; and three G80 turbines with a rated power at 1.66MW each at Brackagh Quarry in Northern Ireland.
The deals were first reported exclusively in subscriber-only newsletter reNEWS.
The wind farms will be owned by BlackRock. The deal with Gamesa also includes a 10-year service agreement.
