Gamesa is to supply 98MW of turbines to a pair of Chinese wind farms, one of which is 3400 metres above sea level.
The Spanish manufacturer will install 24 of its G90-2MW machins to the Cangfang project using a high altitude configuration.
Concord New Energy is building the wind farm in Yunnan in southern China at a site where challenges include low temperatures and low air density.
Turbines will be delivered to what is a new customer in May with operations due in the second half of the year.
Gamesa has also secured a deal to supply 25 G97-2MW machines to Hebei Construction’s 50MW Senjitu 2 wind farm southwest of Beijing.
The manufacturer also supplied the first phase and the latest deal is part of a 150MW master agreement signed in 2014. The third and fourth phase of the project are expected to land later this year.
