GE Vernova has agreed to supply, install and commission 42 onshore wind turbines for Greenvolt International Power’s Ialomita wind farm in Romania.
The project will use GE Vernova’s 6.1MW–158m turbines, delivering a total capacity of about 252MW, which will make it one of the largest wind farms in the country.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026 following the contract’s booking in the third quarter of 2025.
GE Vernova said the wind farm will generate enough electricity to power more than 110,000 homes and businesses annually, supporting Romania’s renewable energy goals for 2030.
Gilan Sabatier, chief commercial officer for GE Vernova’s onshore wind business in international markets, said the agreement reflects Greenvolt’s confidence in the company’s teams and technology.
He added that the project reinforces the value of GE Vernova’s workhorse product strategy and its ability to add value for customers in Romania and across Europe.
GE Vernova’s onshore wind division has about 57,000 turbines installed worldwide, representing nearly 120GW of total capacity.
