German outfit EMS Maritime Offshore is supporting GeoSea’s marine coordination for the planning and construction phase of the 396MW Merkur offshore wind farm in the German North Sea.
The EMS team will initially work out of GeoSea’s German headquarters in Bremen, before being transferred to Merkur’s site office in Eemshaven in the Netherlands.
In Eemshaven the team will take over the site surveillance, radio communications and the emergency support for the construction site, EMS said.
Merkur will consist of 66 GE Haliade 150 6MW turbines and is planned to be completed by the end of 2018.
