Municipal utility Stadtwerke Heidenheim has acquired the 16.1MW Grebbin wind farm in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania from developer WPD.
Five of the project’s seven Enercon E-82 machines with a 108-metre hub height, 82-metre rotor diameter, and 2.3MW rating were commissioned in late 2014, and two were added two years later.
With its 16.1MW capacity, the Grebbin wind farm is the largest project in Stadtwerke Heidenheim’s portfolio, the utility said.
Stadtwerke Heidenheim expects the project to generate some 30m kilowatt hours annually.
