Renewables contractor GES has secured a turbine installation agreement totalling 205MW for the Valdejalon wind farm cluster in the north of the country.
The Spanish engineering, procurement and construction outfit will install 54 GE 3.8-130 turbines and will also operate the crane needed for the installation work.
Turbine installation is expected to be completed during November 2020, said the company.
Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners is developing the Valdejalon cluster, which includes the 49MW El Cabezo, the 45.6MW first phase and 38MW second stage of Portillo 2, and the Virgen de Rodanas 1 and 2 wind projects, each 49.4MW.
GES’ scope of works includes engineering, execution of the civil works, installation of the medium and high voltage cabling as well as turbine installation.
Last year GES added more than 1.1GW to its project installation portfolio in Spain, Mexico, France and Greece.
