GES creates integrated services unit

GES creates integrated services unit

GES has created a new services division integrating its operations and maintenance (O&M) and wind turbine installation businesses.

The aim is to provide a better service to meet the growth in demand for repowering, major corrective works or the management of battery energy storage systems (BESS).

GES has appointed Roberto Lopez Casasola (pictured), who heads the O&M business unit, as director of the integrated services division.

The team has also been strengthened with the promotion of Jorge Sanchez as head of wind installations and the appointment of Pedro Gil as head of wind O&M since December.

At GES the O&M business unit achieved the highest growth in 2024, with an overall increase of 35% compared to 2023 and revenues of €15.4m.

Specifically, GES secured contracts in 2024 to manage the operation and maintenance of a portfolio of renewable facilities with more than 4650MW of wind capacity and 1120MW of solar capacity.

GES’ wind turbine installation business installed more than 110 units generating more than 350MW of power in 2024 and carried out operations in Spain, Italy, Egypt, Mexico, Germany and France.

With regard to the forecasts for 2025 in these activities, GES expects to have a turnover of more than €33m in its integrated services business unit, which would represent a growth of around 10%, comprising €16m of O&M contracts and around €17m in wind and solar installation contracts.

The operation of this unit has an international scope and its main target markets include Spain, Italy, France, Portugal, Chile and Mexico.

Lopez said: “This realignment responds to a changing market in which our clients – facility owners and the technologists themselves – are demanding more specialisation, technology, responsiveness and cost optimisation.

“I am convinced that with the new business unit we can exceed these expectations and have multi-skilled staff available to develop strategies for renewable asset management that serve the business interests of our clients.”
