Goldwind has completed installation of the first turbine at the 206MW Ruisi wind farm in Georgia.
The company said the project will feature 33 GW171-6.25MW turbines designed to maximise output in local wind conditions.

It added that the team achieved the milestone despite complex mountainous terrain, logistical hurdles and winter weather.
Once operational the wind farm is expected to generate about 600GWh of electricity a year, enough to power over 200,000 households and offset more than 400,000 tonnes of CO2, the company stated.
Goldwind said the project aligns with Georgia’s national energy and climate plan and represents a model of international collaboration in the low-carbon transition.
