SSE is preparing to kick off turbine deliveries for the 94MW Dunmaglass wind farm in the Scottish Highlands.
The initial GE 2.85MW components – blades and towers – will take to the road on 9 May, travelling down the A9 trunk road from Inverness Harbour to the project site south of Loch Ness.
Nacelles are travelling by road from Holland on a daily basis, other components including hubs, switchgear and parts will arrive by normal HGV.
SSE project manager Jamie Meneely said: “This marks a significant milestone in the Dunmaglass project and we are looking forward to beginning erecting the turbines in the coming weeks.”
Civil works on the project were led by RJ McLeod and are largely complete.
