Black & Veatch is to provide engineering services for a 41MW wind, solar and energy storage hybrid project in India owned by IL&FS Energy Development Company.
The project, located in Andhra Pradesh, will comprise a 25MW solar farm and a 16MW wind plant integrated with energy storage.
Black & Veatch will carry out engineering studies, prepare the request for proposal documentation for the engineering, procurement and construction provider and for manufacturers that may supply the project.
It will also provide recommendations on supportive regulatory frameworks that would make storage viable for similar grid-scale hybrid power projects, and formulate a plan for implementing the project.
Black & Veatch director of renewable energy in Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa Mitesh Patel said: “Hybrid solutions, by optimizing output and reducing variability, will improve the bankability of renewable energy projects.”
