Innergex is investigating after a “catastrophic fire” affected one turbine at its 350MW Foard City Wind project in the US state of Texas.
The developer said the incident, thought to have been caused by a lightning strike, occurred on Friday, 22 July, at the 139-unit project.

No one was injured, according to a spokeswoman.
“The catastrophic fire, seemingly caused by a lightning strike, affected a single wind turbine generator,” she said.
“The fire was extinguished on Friday, and a safety perimeter has been set.
“This event is under investigation, and no further information is available at this point.”
Foard City was commissioned in 2019 and comprises GE turbines.
The US manufacturer referred all queries to Innergex.
