Inox Wind has won a turbine order totalling 50MW for a wind farm in Gujarat being developed by Indian energy company NTPC.
The project, which will be NTPC’s first foray into the wind power market, is scheduled to be commissioned by the first quarter of India’s 2017–2018 financial year.
Inox will supply and install 25 2MW DFIG 100 rotor dia machines, which are designed for low wind areas.
Inox Wind chief executive Kailash Tarachandani said: “We look forward to strengthening this relationship in the future by augmenting renewable power capacity for NTPC and reducing the nation’s carbon footprint.”
