John Laing Environmental Assets (JLEN) has acquired the 4MW Parc Éolien Le Placis Vert wind farm in France.
The infrastructure giant’s green energy subsidiary said the €2.5m deal with German developer Energiequelle is its first in France.
The wind farm features five Enercon E-53 turbines spinning in the municipality of Saint-Gouéno in the Côtes-d’Armor region of Brittany. It has a 15-year price support and has been operational since January 2016.
JLEN chairman Richard Morse said the company was in talks with Energiequelle about further acquisitions of up to 10MW in France.
“We are pleased to announce this acquisition, which represents JLEN’s entry into the French market and is consistent with JLEN’s strategy of diversification. This marks JLEN’s first collaboration with Energiequelle, an established German developer and operator of wind projects,” he said.
