KGAL Investment Management has acquired the Rekum wind farm near Bremen from Energiequelle for an institutional fund mandate.
The project involves repowering two existing Enercon turbines with more powerful Nordex models to lift nominal capacity from 1.8MW to 14MW, added KGAL.
The wind farm secured a 20-year feed-in tariff under the German Renewable Energy Sources Act in 2023.
Construction in Bremen-Rekum is scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2026.
Once connected to the grid, the project is expected to feed around 38,700 megawatt-hours of electricity into the system each year.
Christopher Tschamler, head of core investments sustainable infrastructure at KGAL, said: “The ‘Rekum’ wind farm benefits from a favorable feed-in tariff combined with a robust wind resource. It offers stable, long-term cash flows with an attractive risk-adjusted return.”
