Mytrah Energy has commissioned an additional nine turbines at the Bhesada wind project in India.
The company said the new units bring the project’s current operational capacity to 35.7MW, with the remaining 14MW to be commissioned ahead of the 2016 wind season as planned.
It said other projects in construction are developing on track, and the company expects to enter the 2016 wind season with 743MW of capacity, in line with previous guidance.
The 100MW Vajrakarur 2 project has 20% of the foundations in place and turbine erection is under way. At the 50MW Nazeerabad facility 50% of the foundations are in place with turbines starting to go up in December.
Mytrah Energy chairman and chief executive officer Ravi Kailas said: “Progress in our construction portfolio continues in line with our expectations.
“With funding in place for 250MW, and considerable progress made already, we are well placed to deliver the planned 200MW before the 2016 wind season.
“While this year’s overall wind season has been behind our expectations, our plants are performing well technically and remain fully capable of meeting their commitments. We do expect to see winds return to the historic average, improving future results.”
