Renewables consultancy Natural Power has helped to secure planning consents relating to three wind farms located in south-west Scotland.
The approvals from Dumfries and Galloway Council include approval for Energiekontor’s Little Hartfell wind farm near Lockerbie consisting of nine turbines with a tip height of 160 metres.
Statkraft meanwhile won backing to increase tip heights at its nine-unit Twentyshilling project near Sanquhar from 125 metres to 140 metres.
In addition, Fred Olsen Renewables has been given the green light to build an alternative access track at its operational 61.5MW Brockloch Rig (pictured).
Natural Power associate technical director of planning Euan Hutchison said: “Our strong local knowledge, and ability to demonstrate the positive impact the development of these projects will bring to the local economy is critical to ensuring the long-term future of affordable low carbon energy in the Dumfries and Galloway region.”
