US developer NextEra Energy Resources is developing a new project in North Dakota after county officials shot down an earlier proposal.
NextEra plans to seek Stark County approval for the 150MW Brady 1 wind farm in place of the Dickinson project that was rejected earlier this year.
Brady 1 would employ up to 87 GE turbines. NextEra expects to construct the project and start operation in 2016, said spokesman Steven Stengel.
The power is to be sold to Basin Electric Power Cooperative under a 30-year power purchase agreement.
NextEra is also developing a second early-stage project. The 150MW Brady 2 scheme would be located in Stark and Hettinger counties, said Stengel.
